Florida King Peach is a fruiting deciduous tree primarily grown for its heavy crop of clingstone summer fruit. A profuse early spring bloom of showy fragrant pink flowers coat the bare branches attracting butterflies. The large yellow peaches with red flushed skin have tender, sweet golden yellow flesh that ripens in June. Grows best in full sun and rich, moist well-drained soils. Florida King is a self pollinator that fruits in its third year, and has 400-450 hours chill requirement.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: High Maintenance. Needs regular watering. Peaches have a lot of pest and disease issues and need regular spraying to ensure good crop. Potential pests include tree borer, fruit moth, root nematodes, and aphids. Late spring frosts can severely damage flower buds. Fallen fruit can be messy if not harvested.
